If used during Seduction, it will break the seduction and re-seduce the focused target. If you already have an imp summoned, it will cast Soul Link. You can force the macro to not cast Fel Dom by holding down any modifier key.

Classic Guide to Warlocks' Best Macros

This macro can be changed for your other pets by replacing the pet:imp and Summon Imp with the appropriate pets felhunter, felguard, voidwalker, succubus. Pet attack totems Arena macro for targeting shaman totems are highest importance then sending a pet to attack it.

This will change your target. Obviously you can modify this to your own liking. Put the most important totem last. This will change your target since it does not utilize focus. You can still use these when bound to a key. I had a fear macro and a seduce macro that I often used for fun, but it was not until BC that it was requested I use during dungeons. I think Warlocks were less understood in Vanilla. How the hell would I know. The Voidwalker is the second demonic minion available to the warlocksummoned through the [ Summon Voidwalker ] ability, available at level 8.

Voidwalkers are good tanks against non- elite mobs at or near the warlock's level; therefore, they are excellent for solo play. Although they can be used in at least low level instances as a substitute for a proper tank, due to their comparative fragility this is generally not advised. Among the four regular warlock pets, the Voidwalker has the most health.

The Voidwalker is a great tank pet; he takes massive amounts of damage, has great armor and holds massive amounts of enemy aggression which is nice because it's not on you! If you intend to fight multiple enemies simultaneously, the Voidwalker is your best choice.

Using him with [ Dark Pact ] is a powerful strategy when being ambushed by another player or mob, giving you a shield that can absorb thousands of points of damage at a moment's notice. Sadly, the Voidwalker does the least melee damage of any of the four regular warlock pets. Don't rely on it to kill the target with melee damage. Instead, put your DoTs on the moband maybe use some direct-damage spells as well, such as [ Immolate ] or [ Shadow Bolt ]but be sparing so you don't draw the aggro to yourself.

The whole point of a Voidwalker is to absorb the mob's attention and damage so you're free to let your spells work, watch for adds, use [ Life Tap ]bandage yourself, etc.

The key to avoiding this is to let the Voidwalker build up threat by ordering him to attack the mob and take off a bit of its health before you start casting your spells. If you're destruction specced, you might want to wait a bit longer as destruction spells generate more threat than affliction spells.

The Voidwalker will take more damage than usual if you use this tactic, but with ample use of [ Health Funnel ] or perhaps commanding him to use Shadow Bulwark this shouldn't be a problem. The threat generated has very limited use in PvP combat, but a Voidwalker isn't entirely useless. Suffering can be used to distract a pet belonging to another warlock or hunter while you focus on more important targets such as the warlock or hunter itself.

Because of its high health defensive abilities, the Voidwalker is likely to have a lot of health at any given time, making it the best pet to have around if you're going to use [ Soul Link ]. The Voidwalker is summoned via [ Summon Voidwalker ]which can be learned from any warlock trainer at level 8.

Previously, the player was required to undertake a quest in order to acquire the Voidwalker. The below information describes this process, and is kept for historical purposes. Per usual, the quest line begins with an NPC warlock near the trainers in one of each faction's major cities.

When you reach level 10 as a warlock, go to any warlock training area for your faction other than the level starting areas and there will be a quest for you, either starting you on the quest or directing you to the right person to talk to. Alliance warlocks will be directed to Gakin the Darkbinder in Stormwindeither by Remen Marcot of Goldshire or Lago Blackwrench of Ironforge to whom you may be directed by the gnome warlock trainers of Kharanos. This includes information on each of the talent abilities, their strengths and weaknesses, and offering tips on how best to make use of these builds.

This section will give you more information on each of the talents in each of the three trees, and which builds in particular they help promote. The following sections is dedicated to listing and explaining three of the best builds for Leveling, Raiding in PvE Dungeons, and PvP encounters. It should be noted that many Warlock talents in each of the three trees have their own strengths, and many players often find their own preferred builds that may not be exactly the same, so feel free to experiment or change these suggested builds to use the talents you feel resonate with you the most.

This build gives you access to several instant-cast spells which both add damage and utility to your rotation. Feel free to play around with the build to suit your playstyle:.

This build sacrifices the DPS offered by demons to significantly magnify the damage of the Warlock. This means the player has a far greater degree of control over what gets hit, when, and how hard, and makes it much easier to avoid aggroing enemies with wandering demons, or breaking CC with an errant Imp fireball. This build hits hard, crits often, and deals massive amounts of Shadow damage, while amplifying the Shadow damage dealt by others.

If you are a raiding Warlock, you should probably use this build. Soul Link was the meta pick for Battleground and Arena Warlocks for what seemed like eons, and in WoW Classic, it's just as potent as it ever was, so read on to learn how to make your cloth-wearing caster feel like their wearing plate. This build sacrifices some of the overwhelming damage of pure Destruction or Affliction builds, but what it gains in survivability is absolutely staggering. The combination of the damage reduction of Master Demonologist and Soul Linkand the life boost from Demonic Embrace mean the Warlock takes nearly half the damage they usually would, even before considering the healing bonus of Improved Healthstonethe self-resurrection of Soulstoneand the ability to use the Voidwalker's Sacrifice spell to create an absorbing shield.

Last Edited: 23 Aug pm. This is most useful against enemies of higher levels which have higher chances to resistmaking this talent useful for all Warlocks and mandatory for raiding Warlocks. Improved Corruption Leveling, Raiding, PVP Corruption begins with a cast time, and turning it to an instant-cast spells allows it to be used much more flexibly.

As Corruption is one of the most powerful Warlock spells especially for the low mana costthis upgrade is essential. Reducing physical damage dealt isn't nearly as useful as dealing damage, increasing cast times, or increasing elemental damage taken, so this spell isn't really worth improving. Improved Drain Soul Solo Leveling Significantly increasing the mana regeneration granted by Improved Drain Soul can be useful when you would otherwise lean on Life Tap such as while levelingallowing you to keep your health high.

That said, you have to deal the killing blow for the effect to proc, making it pointless in raids, in PVP, and even when leveling in a group. Improving one of the Warlock's best and most unique spells?

Yes, please. When you've already loaded up that pesky Warrior with your DOTS and they just won't leave you alone, letting them beat on you while you drain their life away can result in a win for you. It's on a rather long cooldown, but it can significantly increase the damage of Curse of Agony to help finish off a target, and it grants access to Curse of Exhaustion, which can be great for PVP. It can help you kite particularly tough enemies, other players, and give added flexibility during boss encounters.

Nightfall Leveling, Raiding, PVP Nightfall might be the single biggest damage buff Affliction Warlocks can get, especially in encounters with multiple enemies. Being able to add Shadow Bolts to your rotation for just a global cooldown represents a huge boon. This also means hard-hitting burst damage available while moving and a great way to finish off PVP enemies.

Get it. You already have a far superior ability for gaining mana Life Tapleaving Drain Mana as a situational spell largely used to deprive other casters of resources. It's perfect. This is the single best talent point an Affliction Warlock will ever spend, so get it every time. But, since you don't need to be in melee range, and this spell has the same range as your other Affliction spells which deal damageit isn't incredibly useful while you are alone.

If you are slowing the foe down so your Rogue or Warrior companion can catch up to them, it becomes much more useful. This talent is really only useful against flag runners in Warsong Gulch, and other specific situations, so spending so many points on it is not necessarily recommended. It's situational, but when it works, it really works. If you run Affliction, you need all 5 points in Shadow Mastery.

Advanced Macro Guide for Classic WoW. Series; 2/9|Warlock|

It is basically Life Tap without the health cost, but with Improved Life Tap and the myriad ways Warlocks have of recovering health, spending a talent for a slightly different version doesn't make sense. But with the right type of gear and the right kind of talents, Warlocks can tank all the way up to and including raid bosses.

Before I get into it, I have to give a big shoutout to Caperfin who taught me almost everything I know about Warlock tanking. He makes Youtube videos and has a Twitch stream both focusing a lot on the lesser-known aspects of WoW. He has an absolutely extensive written guide to Warlock tanking that you can find hereand he's got a lot more videos and written guides both in the pipe.

Please subscribe to him, he's awesome. What I am going to do is lay out the facts, and I'll get to testing it myself across the entire spectrum, from levels 15 to 60, when Classic launches. I'll make a new video at that point. There are 2 primary things that influence how well a character tanks.

Free appointment api

First is Gaining Threat, second is Mitigating Damage. You can get all the threat in the world, but if you die in one shot, you are a bad tank. You can take all the hits in the world, but if you can't gain aggro or keep threat, you are a bad tank. So how can a Warlock uniquely solve these 2 problems of offense and defense to become a good tank? Any damage-dealer or healer can steal aggro from the main tank, but how does a Warlock consistently keep that aggro?

Well, Warlocks have this one ability called Searing Pain that has some fine print on it that reads: "Causes a high amount of threat". That "high amount of threat" subtext means a whole lot. Searing Pain actually generates twice the threat of a normal damaging ability. So if a Fireball hits for damage it'll generate threat, but a Searing Pain hitting for damage will generate threat!

Fire Warlocks are said to be bad for PvE in a damage role because they generate "more threat than the Main Tank", but that same weakness is suddenly our greatest strength.

Searing Pain also has no cooldown, so you can spam this thing until you run out of mana. So if one is casting spells to gain threat, that means they get spell pushbacked from taking damage and subsequently can't cast spells as fast. Spell pushback was pretty harsh in Vanilla.

This is the biggest hurdle so far, because spell pushback kills your threat generation more than most factors.Lasts 30 sec. Transfers 15 health from the target to the caster every 3 sec. Only one Curse per Warlock can be active on any one target. When activated, sacrifices your summoned demon to grant you an effect that lasts sec.

The effect is canceled if any Demon is summoned. Grants both the Warlock and the summoned demon an effect as long as that demon is active. Lasts as long as the demon is active. Effect lasts a maximum of 12 sec. Reduces the casting time of your Shadow Bolt and Immolate spells by 0. Instantly blasts the target for 87 to Shadow damage.

Reduces the casting time of your Imp's Firebolt spell by 1 sec.Sacrifice is an ability of the Voidwalkera warlock minion. It consumes a portion of the Voidwalker's health, granting the warlock an absorption shield that is similar to a priest's [ Power Word: Shield ] ability. The duration of the Sacrifice shield is 30 seconds. It's very useful when using [ Hellfire ]making a getaway or to extend your life in PvP combat.

Using Sacrifice in Battlegrounds is especially useful because when you die and resurrect, you get your Voidwalker back without having to re-summon it. Even if you are not Demonology specced, this ensures that'll you be able to sacrifice him at least once without having to re-summon. Having [ Fel Synergy ] will allow you to heal the voidwalker back for the health he loses very quickly and makes the use of the shield a non-issue as long as the pet is in reasonably good health.

It is possible to summon another demon while under this shield. In an emergency you can Sacrifice your Voidwalker, resummon it it will now be at full healthand [ Soul Link ] with it again.

The conditional for Metamorphosis warlock is [form:2]. Substitute your preferred pet Voidwalker, Felhunter, etc for Petname. The following variation, based on Nicodeamus' "Summon Demons" macro lower on this page, additionally combines all Summon spells into one macro; hold shift for Voidwalker, ctrl for Succubus, alt for Felhunter, or no mod for Imp.

If you assign it the "? This macro allows you to use a "buff on use" trinket, cast Hellfire, and use your Voidwalker's Sacrifice for some added protection all in one button. A good opener for boss fights. This places all of the Metamorphosis specific spells onto one button. Clicking with no modifiers will trigger Metamorphosis on the first click and Immolation Aura on the second click.

Metamorphosis does not trigger the Global Cooldown however you will still need to click twice to trigger Immolation due to it's requirement that the Meta be active to cast. When activated, this will use any available trinket, cast Metamorphosiscast Demonic Empowerment when an Imp or Felguard is summoned, and cast your regular spell. Change all occurrences of Curse of Agony to the spell of your choice. This version allows for focus casting when the ALT key is held.

Without holding alt, casts on your current target. Both versions will stop error messages from appearing on your screen but audible messages will still occur so you may wish to turn off Error Speech in the sound options. This version will turn the error speech off during the casting and back on once it is done.

It will NOT remove the visual error messages. This macro combines the two macros above primarily for maximum demonology AoE dps output. This version allows control of 'Demon Form' with one button and prevents error messages appearing on screen for this macro if trinkets etc are on cooldown. Note: error speech will still occur.

Simply spam the macro until the end, then when your DoTs fall off, press again three times four times if you're using the Glyph of Life Tap. If you're moving around a lot and the macro gets stuck in the middle, you'd hold shift to start the macro from the beginning.

In between using this macro, spam Incinerate, or Soul Fire when Decimation is active. The macro also automatically makes your pet attack your target and activates Demonic Empowerment which can be fit in outside of the cast sequence since it's not on the GCD. I found this macro to be useful. Every pet has some active skills, which want to be accessen quickly.

Sacrifice - Spell

So why not put one active skill from every pet on the same button? This macro binds your incinerate with your Imp's firebolt. Very useful if you spam your spells; Imp effectively casts quicker. Can also be used with other spells so that you are constantly spamming the Imp's firebolt. Cast's " Curse of the ElementsSacrificeand Hellfire.
